Missing Kess

'Tis sweet to hear the watch-dog's honest bark
Bay deep-mouth'd welcome as we draw near home;
'Tis sweet to know there is an eye will mark
Our coming, and look brighter when we come.

Lord Bryon

Coming home is not the same without Kess' greeting at the door. It's been two weeks since her passing and I miss her so much. Mia misses her sister too.

It has been over 2 years since I had to say good-bye to my Shiloh - he was my first Beagle and my heart and soul dog and I still miss him. Sometimes I wonder if his sister, Lady Shasta, still misses him when she seems to have a far off look on her face although she does now have a sister that came to us a year ago. Losing your furry companion is never, ever easy and I am so sorry that Kess had to leave you and Mia. I pray for you that one day soon that you will remember more of those happy memories of the good times with Kess - it does help.

It is very hard to get used to the quiet of the missing, even if you have a houseful. We've been there. It isn't fun. Hugs.

The only thing worse than loosing a dog is not having one in your life. Dad still misses Essex and Deacon. Sometime during our morning walks he will talk about them and think about about them. They never do quite leave your heart completely.
